Ground Floor

Originally a Welsh long house dating from the 17th century, the cottage was “extended” in the early 19th century by the addition of a farmhouse (where we now live). The cottage (Cegin Fach – meaning “little kitchen”) was then used as the servants’ wing of the main house. We have restored and extended the old stone cottage with its pegged oak “A” frame beams, inglenook fireplace, original wooden staircase and mellow lime washed walls.
The original cottage consists of a large living room with a wood-burning stove and a double sofa bed, the perfect place for a relaxing evening. Listen to your favourite CD (or one or ours!), catch up on some reading, play one of the board games, watch some television or a video or simply switch off.
The architect-designed extension with glazed roof creates a light and airy dining room and kitchen (very well equipped). Sit and linger over breakfast gazing at the magnificent view or soak up the magical atmosphere for your evening meal whilst contemplating the night sky!
There is also a downstairs bathroom with WC, bath and seperate shower; we'll provide you with large bath towels, flannels, foam bath, soap...
